TEN New Poets on Tour
TEN is the ground-breaking new anthology of black and Asian poets from Bloodaxe that truly reflects the multi-cultural make-up of contemporary Britain. It is the culmination of, The Complete Works, the much-needed initiative by Spread the Word to support talented black and Asian poets. The poets are now performing their work at festivals and literature events around the country and in London.
Rowyda Amin, Nick Makoha, Karen McCarthy Woolf, Denise Saul, Seni Seneviratne and Shazea Quraishi come from a diverse range of backgrounds – with roots in Saudi Arabia, Uganda, Jamaica, Ethiopia, Guyana, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. What they share is their craft – powerful, moving and truly exceptional poetry. They offer undeniable proof of the range and diversity of voices in contemporary British poetry today.
‘Sparkling new talents who demonstrate the richness, energy and confidence of the poetic voice in our multicultural country.’ – Carol Ann Duffy
